Best in London - La Porte des Indes

YAHOO Lifestyle 01 Aug 2014

In a city full of good Indian restaurants, La Porte des Indes stands out from the crowd due to its sublime, authentic and yet not over-conceptualized cuisine and lovely surroundings. The setting alone is worth the price of admission: opulence is the order of the day at this large, spacious venue which is admittedly a major hit with tourists as well as locals.

Some of their specialty dishes include: pepper crabs, soft shell crabs with pepper and garlic, Policha Meen, which is marinated sea-bass cooked in banana leaf and the Kohe Kashmir – meltingly soft lamb shank curry. La Porte is also renowned for its cocktails and the wine list is one of the largest in any Indian restaurant – proof that Indian food doesn’t automatically equal larger on tap.
