The brand new ‘Gate to India’ opened it’s doors on Saturday night, and David, Lyn, Serap and Mark were very pleased to go along with some friends and family to sample the menu on the opening night.
The Indian takes the place of the ‘Asian Corner’ (which has been relocated within the hotel, don’t worry) in Village Square; a beautiful setting for any restaurant, and a wonderful addition to the variation of eateries that are available on Aphrodite Hills.
The resort were lucky enough to have Sherin Alexander-Mody, Executive Director of ‘La Porte des Indes, London’, guiding the chef team for the opening.
Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal, and said they would definitely recommend trying the Gate to India: “The flavours were fantastic, but the portions quite small”… “The Lamb Rogan Josh was full of flavour but a little on the hot side”, David specifically commented to the head chef and senior management who were on hand. The group agreed to rating their first experience at the restaurant as a 7 out of 10, only marked down a little due to the small portions (which they did mention to the chef), an error in service and the higher than average prices compared to off resort Indian restaurants.
Overall, we would thoroughly recommend giving the Gate to India a try. It is important to remember that it may work out cheaper than getting a cab to Pissouri or Paphos.
